Sessions

Enigma are experienced session musicians and are available for recording and live work.

Previous studio sessions include playing on albums by Sheffield singer/songwriter Richard Hawley and Midland-based artists Scott Matthews, Jo Hamilton, Nizlopi, Carina Round and Micky Greaney.

We have recorded at many of the UK's top studios including:

Abbey Road - Wincraft Studio - Real World - Dep International

Yellow Arch Sawmills - Pebble Mill - Artisan - Gospel Oak - Magic Garden

Enigma enjoy a close association with record producer, composer and string arranger Jon Cotton of Poseidon Music. In 2009/10 they recorded incidental music with Jon at his Artisan Studios for the soundtrack to the British feature film ‘Nativity’ which starred Martin Freeman and Ashley Jensen.

In 2014 we recorded the soundtrack for 'Does It Matter?' World War 1 Shorts - Episode 2: 'Ghosts' for Channel 4 (watch the video here), and have been featured on the BBC television soap ‘Doctors’.

We have performed live on many occasions with Irish singing sensation Imelda May as well as rock legend Roy Wood (The Move, Wizzard).

"The Enigma String Quartet played at my Daughter Holly’s wedding to Mark a while ago, they were terrific, and helped to make a great atmosphere on the day. I would recommend them to anyone who is planning a special day or a corporate event.  We increased the section to an octet on the evening of the wedding, and I sang a couple of songs with them. Since then, The Enigma Strings have played together with my band on the annual "Rockmas" concert at The Birmingham Symphony Hall. They are first class musicians, and really nice people. You should definitely listen to them". - ROY WOOD (The Move / Wizzard)

"The violinist is Charley Beresford, part of the Enigma String Quartet that played on the Lady's Bridge album... a marvellous musician and a lovely friend" - Richard Hawley.
